The land of Wales
Wales is part of the United Kingdom and
has it's own language Welsh as well as English. The county
offers beautiful landscapes with over 750 miles of coastline,
and over 600 castles. Wales has many National Parks to explore
which include Snowdonia, the Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire.
The Snowdonia national park covers over
800 square miles of beautiful un spoilt countryside in North
Wales. The highest mountain is Mount Snowdon which dominates
the landscape
soaring to 3560 feet, and is part of the Snowdon range which
consist of eleven peaks. On a clear day at the top of Snowdon
you can see view of England, Ireland and Scotland.
The Brecon Beacons National Park covers
around 500 square miles and consists of mountains to the south
of Brecon town. The highest mountain is called Pen y Fan which
is 2907 feet above sea level. Brecon town is a historic market
town
with a population of around 8000 and is a popular holiday destination.
The Pembroke shire National park is a
coastal park with spectacular landscapes and views. The park
covers
over 240 square miles with 258 miles of coastline. The main
town of Pembroke shire has a Norman castle and a 13th century
church. Pembroke Castle is surrounded by the sea on three sides
and saw allot of action in Norman times.
Wales has much to offer with a wide range
of landscapes and is steeped in history. There are many hotels
