scrapping scheme
Would you like to get £2000 off a new car purchase,
well now you can with the governments car scrapping scheme. You
can from next month until march 2010 scrap your car or light
van if it is older than ten years.
The vehicle must have a current mot test certificate
before the date of your new car order. It also needs to have
been registered to you for the previous twelve calendar months
before the order date of the new vehicle.
The vehicle needs to have been registered in
the UK on or before 31 July 1999 and must be a car or small van
weighing less than 3,500 kilograms.
Over 98% of dealers have joined the scrappage
scheme with the government providing £1000 and the dealer
providing the other £1000 to make up the £2000 off
new car sales.
The government has set aside £300 million pounds
for this scheme with funding matched from vehicle manufactures
and the scheme will start from next month until March 2010 or
until the funding has run out.
So if you are looking to buy a new car then
there has never been a better time to do it.
